Mahalo to everyone that showed up yesterday January 22 for our first adult club practice.

Practice schedules are:

Novice B (First year adult paddlers) Monday and Thursday at 430p.

Mondays: 430PM All Open, Masters and Novice A paddlers. If you have an OC1 bring your canoe.

Tuesdays: 4:30 PM all Open, Masters and Novice A men. If you have an OC1 bring your canoe. Bring workout shoes as well.

Wednesdays: 4:30 PM all Open, Masters and Novice A women. If you have an OC1 bring your canoe. Bring workout shoes as well.

February 19th at 330 PM at the hālau we will be having a meeting for all new and returning keiki paddlers.

Details of the paddle season to include practice schedules will be discussed at the meetings.

Kamehameha Canoe Club is open to paddlers of all ages and experience levels. Whether you've never held a paddle before or you are a seasoned pro, we offer a competitive, ‘ohana oriented paddling experience.

Practice for the 2023 season begins February 6th, with Regatta season lasting from May through July. See our practice schedule for practice dates and times.

If you are interested in a great island sport and have questions, contact us via email or come visit us, we are located at the south end of Hilo Bayfront Park.

The Kamehameha Canoe Club was founded in 1947 under the auspices of the Order of Kamehameha Lodge in Keaukaha. The club was reorganized in 1954 by Robert Puakea Sr., Eddie Hamauku and Dan Nathaniel. Head Coach was Isaac Keliipio. In 1975 it was again reorganized by John Kekua, Arnold Nathaniel, Abe Remy, Dale Fergestrom and Joe Kealoha. Their aim is to perpetuate the Art and Sport of Outrigger Canoe Racing.
